Bismack Biyombo (born August 28, 1992 in Lubumbashi) is a Congolese professional basketball player for Fuenlabrada in the ACB.

Biography

Biyombo was discovered by the former Jordanian and Angolan national team head coach, Mario Palma, at the age of 16 at a youth tournament in Yemen. Biyombo's play impressed the coach and earned him an opportunity to train in Spain.

Biyombo initially started playing for the youth team of Fuenlabrada before being called up to the senior team after the transfer of star center Esteban Batista.

Professional Career

Biyombo made his ACB debut against DKV Joventut on January 9th, 2011 and scored 5 points and had 7 rebounds in just 13 minutes of play. Biyombo rose to prominence however, in Fuenlabrada's narrow defeat to ACB power house Real Madrid scoring 6 points and blocking 3 shots, most notably against former ACB MVP and Spanish national basketball team star, Felipe Reyes.

As of March 7th, 2011, Biyombo is rated the 20th best draft prospect for the NBA draft.
