Degree granting institutions

Currently seven schools are accredited or pre-accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) to offer the D.A.O.M. degree.

A Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) is offered by Bastyr University, which claims on its website to be the only “accredited” university in the United States for granting the degree. The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) states at its website that it “has been at the forefront of Traditional Chinese Medicine education since its inception in 1980. They offer two degree programs—the Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) and the Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM)”.
