The Gardner-Edgerton Unified School District (Kansas Unified School District 231) is one of the major school districts in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Currently, the district comprises 1 high school, 2 middle schools, and 6 elementary schools. All but one school in the district, an elementary school, is located in Gardner, KS while the elementary school is located in Edgerton, KS.

The Gardner-Edgerton Unified School District is currently under the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Bill Gillhaus.

The Gardner-Edgerton Board of Education is currently under the leadership of President Ron Ragan, and Vice President Tim Rayburn. Other school board members include Randy Fruits, Mark Grannell, Mary Herbert, Michael McNulty, and James Repshire.
