B. S. Sahay
B. S. Sahay is the founding director of the Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM). Prior to joining the IIM, Sahay was the Director of the Management Development Institute (MDI, Gurgaon) and the Institute of Management Technology (IMT, Ghaziabad).
Sahay obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in Industrial Engineering in 1995. Subsequently, he started teaching and researching in the area of Production & Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. He was the director of the MDI from 2009-2010. As director, he transformed the IMT from a teaching school into an integrated business school in the last four and a half years.
Sahay was also an adjunct professor at the School of International Business (Queensland University of Technology and founding chairman of the . He was also principal coordinator for the Quality Improvement Programme in Management, sponsored by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Sahay is on the editorial board of eight international journals and many national journals. He was the founding editor of the and guest editor of many international journals. Sahay is on the board of the (USA), the , and the . He is on the expert committee/advisory board of many universities and organizations and a fellow of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering.
Sahay received the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Contribution to National Development for the year 2010-2011. He was also given the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2010 by BIT, Sindri at the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations held on 20 November 2010.
