Mirror Mirror is an upcoming comedy fantasy film based on ‘’Snow White’’ by the Brothers Grimm. It is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, and Sean Bean. The film, which had previously been known as Untitled Snow White Project, was officially titled Mirror Mirror on November 4, 2011. The film will be released in US theaters on March 16, 2012. It is unrelated to the Gregory Maguire novel of the same name.
Plot
A wicked enchantress (Roberts) schemes and scrambles for control of a spirited orphan's (Collins) throne and the attention of a charming prince (Hammer). When Snow White's beauty wins the heart of the prince that she desperately pursues, the Queen banishes her to the forest, where a ravening man-eating beast hungrily awaits. Rescued by a band of diminutive highway robbers, Snow White grows into an indomitable young woman determined to take back her realm from the treacherous Queen.
Production
Filming for Mirror Mirror began on June 20, 2011 in Montreal, Quebec under the tentative name, Untitled Snow White Project. Production on the film wrapped in mid-September and is scheduled for a March 16, 2012 release. The first trailer was released on November 30, 2011 in partnership with Relativity Media and Trailer Park. The teaser poster was released the same day.
