Heston Community School
Heston Community School is a state-run secondary school situated in Heston. It caters for a wide range of children aged between 11 and 18. The main building was put up when the school was first established in the 1930s but there have been extensive improvements to the site in more recent years. There is now a sports centre and many new teaching areas that replaced the temporary accommodation that used to be a feature at the front of the school. The sixth form and the Hearing Impared Unit have both been a feature of the school since the 1980s. In 2004 it gained the status of a Specialist Visual Arts School and in the future the school intends to convert to Academy status.
