EPIC (Euskadi Phil Imanol Claudio) Racing (formerly Epsilon Euskadi) is a racing team from Spain. The team's headquarters are located in Azkoitia (Gipuzkoa). It is the only major motorsport team from the Basque Country, (Euskadi). The current team principal is , who has worked for over 30 years in Formula 1, for teams like McLaren, Scuderia Ferrari, Benetton Formula, Tyrrell and Prost Grand Prix, and the current chief engineer is Sergio Rinland, who also worked in Formula One.
In 2008 the team participated in the Le Mans 24 hours for the first time with their Epsilon Euskadi ee1 car.
Although the team announced on June 3, 2009 that it had submitted an entry for the Formula 1 World Championship for 2010, the FIA did not list them amongst the 13 teams in the preliminary entry list released on June 12 2009. They were however placed on the reserve list in case one of the 13 teams withdrew, but the withdrawal of USF1 took place too late for this contingency to operate.
Bid for 2011 Formula One season
In March 2010 Epsilon Euskadi announced a bid for the 2011 Formula One season after they were beaten to the slot in 2010 by US F1, Sauber, Virgin, HRT F1 and Lotus. The entry slot became available as one of the new teams, US F1 failed to make it to the grid in 2010.
