Apliiq
Apliiq is a fashion company based in Los Angeles, California. It was founded by Ethan Lipsitz and Emily Gruber in 2009. The name is a play on a shortened version of the word appliqué, or the ornamental application of one fabric on top of another.
Apliiq is noted for being the first fashion brand offering customizable clothing based on appliqué, a departure from recent trends in custom screen print clothing. They are one of the first in the fashion industry to utilize techniques of just in time manufacturing, and are part of a growing T-DIY (they-do-it-yourself) movement in which companies offer patrons the opportunity to customize their own unique products.
