The 1979 Toyota Tamaraws season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Toyota Tamaraws placed runner-up twice during the , losing to Crispa Redmanizers in the First Conference, 3-2, and in the Open (2nd) Conference, 3-1, but didnt went empty-handed for the year as they won the Invitational third conference at the expense of Crispa, 3-1. Ramon Fernandez lost to Fortunato "Atoy" Co in a close balloting for the league's highest individual honor, the MVP Award. tamaraws rookie made the most impact for a freshman, making it to the Mythical Five in his first year as a pro.
