Bhood (Marathi: भूड) is a village in Khanapur (Vita) tehsil of the Sangli district in Maharashtra, India. It is nearby the city of Vita.
It is famous for Lord Bhoodsiddhnath Temple. Population of Bhood is 1,889 according to the 2011 Census . Basically is an agricultural village but most people are in Gold-Refinery and Jewelers business. Name of the village 'Bhood' is came from the name of the god Lord Bhoodsidhhnatha.
History
Bhood is well known for Lord Siddhanath (Lord Bhoodsidhhnatha). Siddhanath is believed to be incarnation of Lord Shiva. Siddhanath is patron god of adjacent regions and one of among several regional protective (Kshetrapal) gods of Maharashtra.
