Cayetano (Giorgos Bratanis)
Cayetano (his real name is Giorgos Bratanis) was born in Thessaloniki on August 1977. Since he was very young, he got involved with several indie bands and at the same time he was studying music. On 1995 he was a former member of the popular band "Stroggylo Kitrino" (The Round Yellow). They released two albums, "Stroggylo Kitrino" on 1996 and "O Ksenos" (The Stranger") on 1999 from the legendary "Lazy Dog Records".
On 2000, after a serious car accident he had, he started travelling all over Europe and finally he stayed in Barcelona (Spain) until 2004. There he worked with several spanish groups as a pianist and a bassist, he toured with them the spanish territory, he wrote music for theater and cinema and he made the dub-triphop-jazz oriented "Cayetano" project.
His first album "Mr. White", released in vinyl from the German label "Kinky Lounge" back to 2001. Another one album with his name "Cayetano" followed up on 2003 from the same label. It was the time that Cayetano started to be known to the european scene. On 2004 he got back to his homeland and made the Sala Sonora Records. On 2006 he released from his own label, the "Focused" album which made him well known to the public. He toured all over the EU territory and the album was voted as one of the best albums of 2006 in more than 30 major radio stations in 14 countries. At the same year and thanks to this album, Cayetano was nominated for the French Prizes "Prix Radiophonie". Also he took the 1st Prize in Stockholm for the original soundtrack he did for one movie called "Herr Holger".
On 2008 after touring a lot, he signed with the label "Etage Noir" and he produced Loopa Scava's album "Loopa Scava meets Cayetano - Up and Down" which was a massive success to the underground trip-hop scene. This broad Cayetano to the top of the EU scene, got a great feedback and all the Press was putting him near to already big artists such like Bonobo and Wax Tailor. In the meantime he did remixes for well known artists such like Wax Tailor, Parov Stelar, Timewapr Inc., Mod X and many more... On 2009 he released the "The Big Fall" album (Etage Noir) gaining more respect from almost everywhere. His appearance in major festivals gave him the reputation he needed and since then he got numerous sold out gigs, his tracks are on the most popular compilations and programs on TV.
