Freestyle Skiing at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics will be held at the and in Igls, Innsbruck, Austria from 17 January to 22 January. The difference in the Youth Olympic program for alpine skiing compared to the Winter Olympics, is that there will be no aerials or moguls competition for both genders, and an inclusion of a ski half-pipe for both genders.

Qualification System

The top twelve nations in the men's and women’s ski cross FIS points list are entitled to a quota of one athlete in the respective event, the top eight nations in the men’s and women's ski half-pipe FIS points list are also entitled to a quota of one athlete in the respective event. Finally, the five remaining places each for men and women per event will be distributed with a maximum of one male or female athlete per nation, amongst the nations not yet qualified. The final quota spots were released on May 13, 2011 and are subject to change.
