The 2011–2012 figure skating season begins on July 1, 2011, and ends on June 30, 2012. During this season, elite skaters will compete on the ISU Championship level at the 2012 European Championships, the 2012 Four Continents Championships, the 2012 World Junior Championships, and the 2012 World Championships. They will also compete in elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating in the Grand Prix Final.
Season notes
To be eligible for the senior World, European, or Four Continents Championships, skaters must be 15 by July 1, 2011. For other senior international competitions, including the Grand Prix series, skaters are required to have turned 14 by the same date. Skaters competing on the junior level must be at least 13 but cannot have turned 19 (or 21 for male pair skaters and ice dancers) by July 1.
